What can you recycle with us?

Green Vision accepts the following materials:

+ Concrete that is clean and contaminant free
+ Pavers
+ Stabilised basecourse
+ Basalt rock
+ Recovered natural materials such as aggregates
+ Asphalt Millings

Please contact the friendly team at Green Vision if you have any questions.

Please note due to heavy equipment operating on the Green Vision site the site is not open to the general public.

What is concrete recycling?

Concrete recycling starts with concrete that is reclaimed from assets that require either maintenance or to be replaced. To a lesser degree concrete materials are recovered from manufacturing process for products such as concrete pipes or tilt slabs.

The concrete is then either recycled on site or brought back to specialist recycling site where the materials are recycled back into materials to specification that can be repurposed for either base course, drainage, road pavement or lay down area materials.

Once materials are either recovered or resupplied an easy to use formula using either a carbon calculator such as ISCA or an Environmental Product Declaration document can help determine what carbon footprint reduction you have managed to achieve by using recycled materials.

What can you use recycled concrete for?

Processing of concrete into recycled crushed concrete products which can be used as, roadway sub base, base course, cycleways, general backfill as well as ready mix concrete aggregate replacement.

What is asphalt recycling?

Asphalt recycling starts with recycled asphalt, which contains reprocessed pavement. Reclaimed asphalt (otherwise known as RAP) starts with old, broken or damaged asphalt that needs maintenance or to be replaced.

Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) describes removed and/or reprocessed pavement materials containing asphalt and aggregates. These materials are generated when asphalt pavements are removed for reconstruction, resurfacing, or to obtain access to buried utilities. When properly crushed and screened, RAP consists of high-quality, well-graded aggregates coated by asphalt cement.

Essentially, asphalt recycling repurposes RAP and allows towns, cities, municipalities and other organizations requiring large asphalt volumes to reuse their existing asphalt into new projects. Asphalt recycling follows the sustainability goal of reclaim, recycle and repurpose where possible to achieve better outcomes.

What can recycled asphalt be used for?

Processing of asphalt millings into recycled asphalt products (RAP) sand and RAP chip. These can be reused in the production of Asphalt for the road network, airports, storage, carparks streetscape and landscape projects to name a few.

** Please note: RAP products are currently unavailable to external customers as they use exclusively for the manufacture of hot mix asphalt products from Downer asphalt plants.

What is Basalt rock recycling?

When Basalt rock is reclaimed from projects these can be after an initial inspection from one of the Green Vision teams can be reclaimed to be recycled into various grades.

We received in good quality basalt rock which is common across the wider Auckland area as part of Auckland volcanic field. We are recycling the reclaimed rock into various grades that can be used for Rip Rap, Residential stone walls, Quarried aggregate replacement and defender walls applications to name a few.

Please contact us to discuss your requirements regarding either tipping of these products or the supply of recycled products.

We accept the tipping of Basalt for free , please call Tony to enquire on 021 422 798 , T&C's apply.
