Green Vision helps CRL repurpose reinforced concrete TBM tunnel sections

Green Vision has worked with the City Rail Link (CRL) project team in October to recover reinforced concrete tunnel segments that were used to push the TBM through the platform tunnel of Karanga-a-Hape Station. The 200 tunnel segments weighed in excess of 5-tonnes each and were uplifted from the CRL Canada Street site using cranes and trucks. The segments were then transferred to Green Vision and off-loaded using a crane onsite over an eighteen hour period which included the Green Vision site being opened at night to provide movement efficiency for the team at CRL.

The 200 tunnel segments will be crushed into over 1,000 tonnes of high quality graded concrete aggregates ready for a second life suitable for various applications.

We would like extend our thanks to the team at CRL including team leader Jeremie Lore for the well-planned and executed safe delivery of materials to be repurposed to Green Vision.

If your project has concrete materials for recycling, to help with your projects sustainability, please reach out to the team at Green Vision Recycling as we make the recovery of concrete and/or rock assets easy as demonstrated with the recent CRL job.
